eCountability is delighted to announce a new service based on the recently published UK Habitat Classification (“UKHab”).
We can provide spatially precise and accurate UKHab maps from high resolution remote sensing imagery and other data sources to support ecological appraisal, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, environmental assessments, land use planning and land management.
The robust, hierarchical structure of UKHab allows for flexibility in level of detail to support different applications. Baselines mapped to Level 3 can be used directly for a range of applications, or to target field survey in order to conduct habitat condition assessments or achieve the full power of Level 4 or 5 primary habitats and secondary codes.
Our mapping methodology has been field-tested and has good class accuracy and spatial precision. The mapped product, suitable for high level site assessment, can be supplemented with field survey to provide more detail and habitat condition assessment where required. All spatial scales from development sites to strategic areas can be mapped.
